UMM envisages that its work will enable its members, who are poor women, to make better choices for themselves and their families. Its services will empower its members who are mostly women to make financial decisions within their households.
Poor Women & Low Income Households
UMM's clientele will include economically and socially vulnerable poor women and low income households. It will focus on women because of the important role they play in the overall development of their families.
UMM will work towards making its clients economically independent through self-help initiatives, so that they can live a dignified life without dependency. Being economically self-reliant will enable them to effectively challenge the vulnerability context of their lives.
Financial Services & Non-Financial Services
UMM will offer credit and insurance services to its members. Credit will be extended directly by UMM using SHG methodology while insurance services will be facilitated in collaboration with other agencies like insurance companies. UMM will also look for strategic alliances to offer other kinds of financial and non-financial services.
